What is Pilates

Beginners Pilates is a low impact exercise suitable all ages. Pilates helps to strengthen, stabilise your core thus improving posture, balance and flexibility and reducing back pain.

What happens in the Pilates class? 

The class begins with warm ups, moving on to strengthening and stabilising exercises both standing, seated and lying.  Each class will include the following Pilates principles:

What to bring

Please bring water, an exercise mat (if you have one), a blanket and pillow and wear comfortable clothing. Avoid eating a couple of hours before the class or eat lightly if you need to.

Pilates or yoga - what is the difference? 

Pilates and yoga both help improve strength, balance, flexibility, posture and incorporate good breathing techniques.  Yoga places more emphasis on relaxation. 

Private sessions

Alternatively, you may prefer a private class to target your own specific requirements. These are especially recommended if you have an injury that requires specific exercises to assist rehabilitation

  • If you cannot make a class you can swap and attend on a different night.
